Update
Reddit Ads joins, and a delete needs an archive and a three-hour wait first
TL;DR
Reddit Ads is a full platform here: reporting and insights, campaign and ad-group builds that land paused, audience and community research, and the Conversions API. The parts worth knowing are what it takes to remove something and where Reddit's own structure makes a plan behave unexpectedly.
What shipped
- 29 reads. Accounts, campaigns, ad groups, ads, funding instruments, pixels, reports and insights, plus community search, interest and geolocation targeting, keyword suggestions, bid and audience estimates.
- 31 writes. Status and budget and bid changes, campaign and ad-group and ad creates, targeting and schedule updates, audiences, creative assets, posts and conversion events.
- Microcurrency is converted once. Reddit's API is microcurrency; every tool argument and result is in major units — a result is never divided a second time.
- Creates land paused, and every write reads its target first.
Removing something takes two steps and a wait
Reddit will not delete an object that has not been archived, and an archive needs roughly three hours to settle before the delete is accepted. Both steps are person-class on every lane, so neither happens in a run — and the sequence is stated rather than discovered when the second call fails.
A refused client credential pair (a 401 with
invalid_client) is an operator problem, not a dead grant, and it raises an operator alert rather than telling a customer their connection expired. Reports are limited to sixty a minute per authorizing user.Frequently asked questions
- Can the agent delete a Reddit campaign?
- Not in a run. Reddit requires an archive first and roughly three hours before a delete is accepted, and both the archive and the delete are person-class on every lane.
- Are Reddit budgets in microcurrency here?
- No. Reddit's API is microcurrency, and every tool argument and result is converted once into major units, so a result is never divided again.
- What does Reddit Ads add beyond campaign management?
- Community search, interest and geolocation targeting options, keyword suggestions, bid suggestions and audience size estimates — the research that decides where a Reddit campaign should run before it is built.
- Do new Reddit campaigns start spending?
- No. Creates land paused and every write reads its target first, so a build is reviewed before anything serves.
