Connect Agent Planners to ChatGPT: your ad accounts as a ChatGPT plugin
TL;DR
ChatGPT can add a remote MCP server as a custom plugin, and Agent Planners is one. You add it in ChatGPT's Plugins page, sign in on the Agent Planners consent page, and then pick it with @ in a conversation. ChatGPT never sees your ad-platform credentials, and a connection approved on the consent page queues each change for an admin or editor by default.
How to connect
- 1Open ChatGPT Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins), select + and choose Add custom MCP server. Your account or workspace policy must allow custom MCP servers.
- 2Name it Agent Planners, choose Public endpoint, enter https://www.agentplanners.com/api/mcp and choose OAuth as its authentication.
- 3Read the risk warning, select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin. Install it; when the Agent Planners consent page opens, sign in, pick the workspace and select Allow access.
- 4Start a new conversation, type @ and pick Agent Planners. Ask it to check its access first: it reads the workspace, scopes and connected accounts.
ChatGPT cannot add a plugin from inside a chat, and you should never paste an API key into one. ChatGPT's menus change often; the MCP setup guide keeps the current steps and the date we last checked them.
What you can ask for
- "How did our Google Ads and Meta campaigns do last week, side by side?"
- "Which landing pages had the most quick backs in Microsoft Clarity over the last 3 days?"
- "Find search terms wasting spend and propose negatives" — the change waits for approval in Agent Planners by default.
- "Start a task that audits every connected account and email me the report."
Security
- The connection carries only the permissions approved on the consent page; without a write permission ChatGPT cannot change anything.
- Platform credentials stay on our server and are never returned to ChatGPT.
- By default a ChatGPT connection queues each change for an admin or editor; a write a platform marks as a person's decision — a permanent delete, publishing, turning spend on — always waits for a person.
- Disconnect it any time on the API & MCP page under Connected apps.
Frequently asked questions
- Can ChatGPT manage my Google Ads account?
- Yes, through Agent Planners: add it as a custom MCP plugin and sign in. ChatGPT can read reports and propose changes; by default each change waits for an admin's or editor's approval.
- Is Agent Planners in ChatGPT's app directory?
- Not yet. Add it by URL as a custom MCP plugin; the OAuth sign-in a listing needs already works.
- Does ChatGPT see my ad-platform passwords or tokens?
- No. They stay on the Agent Planners server; ChatGPT receives results only.
