AI agent for organic social: Facebook Page, Instagram and X posts, drafted, scheduled and published with approval
TL;DR
Organic social is its own tool family, separate from Meta Ads and X Ads. Each Facebook Page, Instagram account and X profile is an account you can pick for a task, a schedule or a project. Drafts, scheduled and published posts sit in one queue the app, agents, MCP, the REST API and projects share. Publishing, scheduling, editing and deleting a post always wait for a person; a draft, a cancel and a Facebook unpublished post do not.
Connecting it
- 1For Facebook Pages and Instagram, open Integrations and press Connect (or Re-authorize) on the Meta Pages & Leads card. Accept every permission Facebook lists — publishing needs pages_manage_posts for Pages and instagram_content_publish for Instagram.
- 2Each Page your Facebook login manages, and each Instagram professional account linked to one, becomes its own account. A Page needs your role's CREATE_CONTENT task to publish; the card says what is missing.
- 3For X, press Connect on the X Organic card (separate from X Ads) and sign in to X.
- 4Pick the accounts for the task, then write the goal — for example "draft three posts about our autumn sale for the Page and X, for next week".
What the agent reads
- Every connected Page, Instagram account and X profile, whether it can publish and which permission is missing.
- Recent posts, one post with its metrics, and engagement for a post or the account (Page and Instagram insights need their insights permissions).
- The queue: drafts, scheduled, published and failed posts, with the project each belongs to.
- Each network's publishing limits — Instagram's 100 API posts per 24 hours, X's 280 weighted characters, Instagram's 2,200-character caption and 30 hashtags.
What the agent changes — public posts wait for a person
- Drafts — saved in the queue, nothing sent to the network. Post text can be drafted per network from a brief, checked against the limits.
- Schedule and publish — at a time or now. Instagram and X have no scheduling API, so the queue publishes the post on time.
- Edit and delete published posts where the network allows it: Facebook edits only posts this app made, X allows edits within 30 minutes, Instagram cannot edit through its API.
- Cancel a draft or a scheduled post before it goes out.
Publishing, scheduling, editing and deleting always wait for a person — in the app, on a schedule, in a project, over MCP and the REST API — even with auto-approve on and from an autonomous API key. A draft, a cancel and a Facebook unpublished post (not shown on the Page) are ordinary changes that follow your approval setting.
Things worth knowing before you plan around it
- Organic posts and paid ads are different APIs and different permissions: the agent never uses Meta Ads or X Ads tools for a post.
- X charges per post read and per post written; those calls are billed in your workspace's credits.
- A post made inside a project shows on the project page, and moves with its plan item when the item's dates change.
- There is no raw request lane for organic social: every public post goes through the typed tools, which check limits, remove duplicates and wait for a person.
Frequently asked questions
- Can Agent Planners post to my Facebook Page, Instagram and X?
- Yes. It drafts, schedules, publishes, edits and deletes organic posts on Facebook Pages, Instagram professional accounts and X profiles, and reads their engagement. Every public post waits for your approval, even with auto-approve on.
- Can it schedule Instagram and X posts?
- Yes, through Agent Planners' own queue — neither network has a scheduling API, so the queue publishes the post at the time you approved.
- Will it post the same thing twice?
- No. One queue is shared by the app, agents, MCP, the REST API and projects, and a post already queued for an account is reused rather than created again.
- Is this the same as Meta Ads or X Ads?
- No. Organic posts are their own connection and tools; paid campaigns stay on the Meta Ads and X Ads integrations.
