Alerts: metric thresholds, account status and review changes

TL;DR

Alert rules watch your connected accounts and email you only when something crosses the line you set. There are three kinds: a metric threshold (CPA above 25 for two days, sessions down 20 %), an account status (suspended, verification required, disapproved ads, campaigns not serving) and a review change (an AdSense site, AdMob app or Ad Manager child publisher approved).

Create a rule

  1. 1Open Alerts → New rule, or simply ask the agent: “Alert me when CPA is above 25 for two days” or “Email me when my AdSense site is approved”.
  2. 2Pick the account and the metric. Status and review metrics appear in the same list as the numbers, for the platforms that publish them.
  3. 3Set the condition: above / below a threshold, or a drop / rise in % against the trailing 7-day average. Status and review rules are always “above 0”.
  4. 4Optionally require several days in a row, a quiet period after each alert (cooldown) and extra recipients, then save.

Metric thresholds

  • Rules are evaluated twice a day on CLOSED days in the account's own time zone — a partial today never fires.
  • At most one email per rule per day; a cooldown keeps a rule quiet for N days after it fires.
  • Money thresholds are in the account's own currency. GA4 rates are 0–1 ratios (60 % is 0.6). Search Console finalizes about three days late, so its rules judge the last finalized day.

Account and ad status

A status rule reads the same health check the agent runs (get_account_health) and alerts while the problem exists: account_issue and account_suspended (0 or 1), verification_required (0 or 1), disapproved_ads and not_serving_campaigns (counts). The email lists what the check found — the status in plain words, funding, verification and policy findings.

A platform that publishes no suspended state is not offered account_suspended; a fact a platform does not publish is treated as unknown, never as 0. No advertising API publishes the reason for a suspension, so the email states the signals the data shows and the platform's own code where it gives one.

Review changes (AdSense, AdMob, Ad Manager)

  • newly_approved alerts the day a site, an app or an MCM child publisher passes review; review_status_changes alerts on any review change, a disapproval included.
  • Each check compares the review states with the previous check; the email names every site or app that changed, with its old and new state.
  • The first check only records the current states. Rules run twice a day, so you hear about an approval within about 12 hours.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly will I hear about a suspension or an approval?
Rules run twice a day, so within about 12 hours of the change. For the state right now, ask the agent to run the account health check.
Why can't I pick account_suspended for DV360, CM360, AdSense or AdMob?
Their APIs publish no suspended state, so a rule could never fire. account_issue carries their verdict instead.
Does the alert say why an account was suspended?
No advertising API publishes the reason. The email lists the signals the data shows — status, funding, verification, policy — and the platform's own code where it gives one.
